Christians at Polytech are a group of Christians at CPIT who aim to learn more about Jesus and to make Him known to others.

We run weekly interactive meetings where we study the Bible together in a relaxed manner.

You won't be forced to read aloud or pray if you don't want to, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.

So why not come along and learn more about Jesus and why He is so important to us?

Time and Location

In 2013 we are running one Bible study group each week on campus, please feel free to join us.

Tuesdays 12.00pm - 1.00pm in Room C140 in the CPSA building

We also run the occasional discussion group on a Wednesday from 12.00pm - 1.00pm in Room C140. Contact us for more information.

Who are we?

We are a group of people who attend CPIT and are eager to learn about Jesus from the Bible and see what it means for us.

Our group began in 2001 as the 'Polytech Bible Study' with two people reading the Bible together during lunchtimes. It has grown over the years and we are now running two Bible study groups.

Our aim is to help people investigate Jesus and Christianity, and to encourage Christians on campus to keep growing in their love for Jesus.

Christians at Polytech is a registered group of the Christchurch Polytech Students' Association and is currently run by Tim Capill who works for St. Johns Anglican Church Latimer Square. While people from this church attend the group, there are people attending from many different churches across the city as well.

If you are interested in finding out more about what it means to be a Christian, or would like to meet with other Christians at Polytech please feel free to join us at one of our weekly meetings or to contact us.

What do we do?

At each of our meetings, we share lunch (BYO), and then we read and discuss a part of the Bible together. We ensure our meeting is finished by 12.50pm so that students have time to get to their next class.

We invite anyone who is interested to join us.

There is also the possibility of meeting with someone one-to-one in order to study at the Bible at your own pace.

How can I find out more about the group?

Please feel free to pop in to one of our weekly meetings in order to meet us. If you are unable to make it, or would like to know more about us first, please email Tim Capill: (contact@christiansatpolytech.co.nz) or phone him on (03) 366 77 44.
